Hello UMBC!

Hello and Welcome to my UMBC Blog!  My name is Brian Frazee and I am a sophomore here at UMBC.  I am very excited to start blogging.  I’ll use this first post to introduce myself to you all!  I am a sophomore who is a member of the Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars Program, Honors College, Student Government Association Senate, the University System of Maryland Student Council, Political Science Council of Majors, and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.  I am also a Resident Assistant (RA) in Chesapeake Hall.

UMBC was at the very top of my list of schools to choose from when I was going through the tedious process of deciding what to do after high school.  This is an incredibly diverse and dynamic university that allows you really create your own path of success.  There are so many opportunities to become involved and I have been so impressed with the current freshmen who seem to be getting aquainted with student organizations already!

Today marked the end of the first full week of school, and it was definitely a busy one!  It’s very interesting to witness everyone getting used to the rigors of college life again.  It always seems like summer goes by way too fast, but then again, so does life in general.  It’s hard to believe that I am already a second year student.  Watching the freshmen come in really puts it into perspective for me because it seems like just yesterday I was in their shoes, trying to figure out how to navigate my way through this great university.

I look forward to this school year.  It seems like every year, UMBC becomes more and more dynamic and exciting, with students from numerous different states, countries, and backgrounds, as well as several opportunities to make UMBC yours!

  1. Hi! I was just wondering – which hall is yours in Chesapeake? I’m the freshman blogger for UMBC, and I live on the 100 level in Chesapeake North. :)
